Yes, it is true, this dog can read and she definitely loves children. Olivet is a highly trained canine companion service dog teamed with art teacher, Dan Galloway, at Dale Cassens School in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Dan and Olivet travel to schools throughout St. Lucie County, to teach art to children who have special needs.  Dan and Olivet also have a reading and writing program to improve FCAT scores called REWARD, Reading Enhancement and Writing Advancement with a Reading Dog.  To learn more, We invite you to explore this website.

 

This web site is a place for Olivet's students to exhibit their creations and showcase their experiences with Olivet, a Canine Companion for Independence dog (CCI). The purpose of this web site is to teach students about digital art technology and increase self-esteem for students participating in the program. This site also serves as a place for sharing successful ESE art lesson plans, and showcasing ESE art and CCI programs in St. Lucie County.
